Summary
- Higgsfield has launched AI Motion Designer, an agent that builds motion graphics for you inside Adobe After Effects. You add the Higgsfield plugin in ChatGPT, type /use-after-effects, and give instructions in plain language.
- Resolution runs from 1080p up to 8K, runtime is whatever you ask for, whether 5 minutes or 30, and there is no cap on reference assets. The company admits the only real cost is waiting time.
- It requires active Higgsfield, GPT, and After Effects subscriptions, and Higgsfield generations draw on your credits at the same rates as the web platform. The demo video posted on the 12th has passed 100,000 views.
Higgsfield, the AI video toolmaker, has launched AI Motion Designer, an agent that builds motion graphics on your behalf inside Adobe After Effects. You add the Higgsfield plugin in ChatGPT, tell it what you want in plain language, and a title animation or logo reveal is built straight into the After Effects project you already have open. The company posted a how-to on its official blog on September 10, followed by demo videos on X on the 12th and 13th, describing the tool as "like Cursor but for motion designers."
The blog lays out the workflow in three steps. First you create your raw material, such as images or video, with Higgsfield's tools. Then, in the ChatGPT window, you describe the job in everyday language: "Animate this title," "Build a logo reveal," or "Add a transition." The agent then builds the result directly inside your open After Effects composition. The company says there is "no exporting a generated asset out of one app just to import it into another."
Until now, motion graphics work meant generating an asset somewhere, bringing it into After Effects, animating it, and finishing it there. According to the company, switching between tools used to be the whole workflow, and that round trip repeated on every small revision. Think of a restaurant where the groceries are carried to the kitchen, prepped, and carried back out to the dining room every single time. This agent takes the order in the kitchen and finishes the dish right there.
METAL reviewed three posts from Higgsfield's X account over two days. A 20-second video posted on September 12 with the line "like Cursor but for motion designers" had passed 102,000 views as of the afternoon of the 14th. On the 13th came a 25-second video saying GPT-6 Astra is now doing motion design, followed by a Photoshop clip urging animators to try it. All three posts led with the combination of the Higgsfield plugin inside ChatGPT and GPT-6 Astra, and the blog is where the After Effects integration is documented, down to the steps and the requirements.
The difference the company emphasizes is that there are no caps. Resolution is generated at whatever the prompt specifies, whether 1080p, 4K, or 8K, and runtime works the same way: ask for 5 minutes, 30 minutes, or more and you get exactly that length. Reference images and videos are unlimited too, as many as the project actually needs. The company concedes that "the only real tradeoff is time," with longer runtimes and higher resolutions meaning a longer wait for the generation to finish.
The company is firm that you don't need to know After Effects. The blog states that "no working knowledge of After Effects is required," explaining that the agent translates a plain-language request into layers, keyframes, and timing on its own. Someone who has never opened After Effects can still get a finished title animation or logo reveal built entirely from commands typed in chat, the company claims. It names four kinds of users: motion designers looking to cut repetitive animation tasks, video editors who need a quick title or transition, content creators producing branded video without a motion design background, and agencies juggling multiple client projects.
Getting started takes three steps. Add the Higgsfield plugin in ChatGPT, type /use-after-effects through the plugin, and describe what you need done in After Effects directly in the chat. There are conditions. You need active subscriptions to Higgsfield, GPT, and Adobe After Effects, and Higgsfield generations use your regular credit balance at the same rates as the web platform. ChatGPT and MCP usage depends on the plan and client you use, the company says.
Seen from the desk of someone who produces and ships content, the tool's value lies less in spectacular scenes than in repetitive work. The company's own use cases are building a title animation or logo reveal from a text instruction, recreating animation from a visual or video reference, generating expressions or effects without writing them by hand, and bringing a Higgsfield-generated asset into the composition to keep animating there. If the job of making a dozen title cards that differ only in size shrinks to a few lines of chat, the place where a person is needed shifts upstream, to deciding what scene to make in the first place.
Higgsfield has kept widening its path into Adobe's tools. Its plugins page already lists a panel-style plugin that runs in Premiere Pro and After Effects 2025 or newer, plus an MCP bridge connecting Claude and ChatGPT. METAL has previously reported on ChatGPT driving Runway and Blender directly from its app directory and on Genjutsu, which swaps backgrounds while keeping performances and camera moves, and this agent is where those two threads meet on the After Effects timeline. Plugins for editing software were also what Higgsfield put forward when it raised its Series B.
What this announcement says is clear. Rather than pulling people to its own website, Higgsfield has planted itself between the After Effects and ChatGPT windows people already have open. The place where material is made and the place where motion is added have merged into one chat window, and in exchange for removing the caps on resolution and length, the price is paid in waiting time. Instead of learning motion graphics, the ability to describe the scene you want in words has become the starting point of the work.
