The core goal is to progressively consolidate business data that had been scattered across separate systems at job sites and headquarters into a single platform, and to establish a data-driven decision-making framework.
The project is being viewed not merely as an IT infrastructure replacement, but as a structural shift that underpins both management decisions and overall site operations with data. The company plans to build a data catalog and standardized management system alongside this effort to unify data standards across departments, creating an environment where employees can access the information they need faster and more accurately.
Structuring relationships between data through ontology
What GS E&C is particularly focused on is an ontology-based data structure. Ontology is a technology that systematically links relationships between data and business knowledge, tying together data that had been scattered across individual systems for process, quality, safety, and cost into a single knowledge framework.
The company's vision is to move beyond simple data aggregation and create a virtuous cycle in which analysis results are fed back into decision-making at both job sites and headquarters. It also plans to progressively introduce construction-specific AI services, including risk analysis, process and quality data analysis, and early detection of on-site safety hazards.
PMX integration and building an integrated dashboard
GS E&C is also pursuing efforts to connect Snowflake with PMX, its proprietary on-site project management platform. Linking the site data accumulated in PMX with Snowflake will enable integrated management of data across the entire project lifecycle.
The company will also build an integrated dashboard that provides an at-a-glance view of key metrics such as process, quality, safety, and cost. This is expected to create an environment where job sites and headquarters can make swift decisions based on the same data.
