Quarterly Results Summary
SK Telecom reported consolidated revenue of 4.3591 trillion won, operating profit of 566 billion won, and net income of 466 billion won for Q2 2026. Operating profit rose 67.3% year-on-year.
The telecom business showed a clear recovery as the company focused on rebuilding customer trust. Under a customer lifetime value-centered strategy for qualitative growth, SKT rolled out differentiated marketing campaigns and achieved net growth in mobile subscribers even in a stabilized market environment.
AI Data Centers See Rapid Growth
The AI data center business showed the fastest growth of all SKT business segments this quarter. Q2 AI DC revenue reached 136.2 billion won, up 92.5% year-on-year.
Last month, SKT established SK Hyper, a dedicated entity for AI data center business development. The move is aimed at enabling faster decision-making and a more flexible business structure amid a rapidly shifting AI competitive landscape.
SK Hyper and Mid- to Long-Term Plans
SK Hyper plans to prioritize securing key infrastructure such as sites and power supply, as well as attracting global clients. Centered on SK Hyper, SKT has set an initial goal of phasing in 5GW of AI data center capacity by 2029.
The company stated its intent to play a leading role in helping South Korea emerge as an AI infrastructure hub in Asia. Details such as specific investment scale and client status were not disclosed in this release.
