In August 2026, prompted by a GitHub outage, Cursor expanded beyond the editor by launching a code hosting service called 'Origin.' Around the same time, Cursor's CEO stated that the company should become a multi-product company spanning several products going forward. Cursor also began private beta testing of a new tab featuring codebase exploration and review functions.
