Upstage is a South Korean artificial intelligence company that develops large language models. Its flagship model is the 'Solar' series, and it recently unveiled 'Solar Pro 4.' Upstage directly develops and operates the Solar models, and it should not be confused with other platforms that distribute them or that have similar names. In August 2026, Upstage opened Solar Pro 4 for free access for one week through the Nous portal. Around the same time, Upstage announced that Solar Pro 4's intelligence index had risen from 14 to 42.
