A valuation that doubled in eight months
Lovable has raised a $400 million Series C round, setting its valuation at $13.3 billion. The round was led by Menlo Ventures and Scale Up Europe Fund, with participation from more than a dozen other investors. Given that the company was valued at $6.6 billion when it raised $330 million last December, its valuation has doubled in just eight months. The company said this latest funding came right after its annualized recurring revenue (ARR) surpassed $500 million last June.
How a "coding by talking" service got here
Lovable is a "vibe coding" tool that lets users type natural-language requests and have AI build working websites and apps in response. Because even non-developers can generate prototypes just by describing their ideas conversationally, the service has spread especially fast across Europe. The company says it now hosts 60 million projects and draws 900 million monthly visitors. Supporting that level of traffic requires scaling up the backend computing infrastructure as well — alongside using frontier models, Lovable also runs its own custom-trained AI models. In June, the company signed a new multi-year contract with Google Cloud, which it says increased its usage capacity fivefold. Earlier, on August 6, Lovable announced a partnership with wafer-scale chip maker Cerebras, saying it had begun moving latency-sensitive workloads onto dedicated infrastructure. Cerebras's wafer-scale engine places an entire model on a single silicon wafer, eliminating chip-to-chip communication overhead — an advantage for services like code generation that require instant responses. Lovable also cited Atech, a Danish startup it has backed that applies vibe coding to hardware design, as another example of its portfolio companies.
What this means
The vibe coding market is still young, but the pace at which Lovable's revenue and valuation are growing suggests a fast-rising base of paying users in this space. Its sharp ARR growth over just six months, paired with parallel infrastructure investment, reflects a broader shift in which AI is becoming a tool not just for autocompleting code but for actually building finished products. It also signals that the barrier to launching a service — with nothing more than an idea and no coding experience — keeps getting lower.
