A familiar tab attached to the chat window
A screenshot of the Gemini Enterprise interface has revealed an input box with two tabs side by side, labeled 'Chat' and 'Task.' The image, shared by tech-news X account TestingCatalog, shows a toggle being tested to distinguish conversational questions from separate task execution. The same screen also showed a new agent called 'Campaign Studio,' designed to automatically build marketing campaigns. Its description read: "Marketing campaign creation built into Gemini Enterprise."
A banner at the top of the screen also read, "NEW: Try Gemini 3.6 Flash." The sidebar listed several agents already tagged as "Preview," including Deep Research Gem3, Co-Scientist, Talk To Doc, and Computer Use — suggesting Google is running multiple experiments simultaneously within its enterprise Gemini offering.

What this is about
Gemini Enterprise is Google's business-focused Gemini platform, built for enterprise customers and supporting internal data connections and custom agent creation. Until now, a single chat window has handled both questions and requests without distinction. If the newly spotted Chat/Task toggle is actually implemented, users would first classify their input as either a "simple query" or a "task requiring execution." TestingCatalog's comment that the design felt "familiar" likely reflects the fact that similar structures have already been tried by other AI chatbots.
The addition of task-specific agents like Campaign Studio is not an isolated move. On July 30, Google expanded "Gemini Spark," its always-on personal agent, to more than 160 countries including South Korea, and on August 8 it introduced a Gemini feature that combines Google Maps, Flights, and Hotels data to build travel itineraries. The automatic marketing campaign generator appears to be an extension of this same push toward "action-taking agents." Placed alongside tools already in preview, such as Co-Scientist and Talk To Doc, it suggests Google is continuing efforts to reshape enterprise Gemini from a simple chatbot into a platform for executing work.
So what changes
Since this remains an early-stage test visible to only a limited number of accounts, it's unclear whether or when it will officially launch. Still, if the Chat/Task distinction becomes standard, enterprise users would be able to choose between "asking" and "having something handled" right from the entry point of the app. The growing number of agents like Campaign Studio, which take over entire tasks, points in the same direction. Combined with Gemini Spark's browser automation and itinerary-generation features, the pattern increasingly suggests that Google is shifting its enterprise product lineup from "AI that answers questions" toward "AI that handles work on your behalf."
