ChatGPT Atlas
A web browser built by OpenAI that lets ChatGPT see the screen directly and take actions to handle web tasks on a user's behalf.
In plain words
ChatGPT Atlas is a web browser built by OpenAI, designed so that ChatGPT can click and type directly inside web pages to carry out tasks for you.
A regular browser is just a door-opener. Once it opens the door, it's up to the person to decide what to do inside. Atlas acts as both the doorman and the errand-runner. If you leave a site open where you're already logged in, the browser itself will look at the screen and press the right buttons to complete whatever task you type into the chat window.
This approach follows the same trend as similar features built by other companies. That said, OpenAI has shifted away from continuing to push a standalone browser, moving instead toward folding this capability into ChatGPT itself.
