Claude in Chrome

Claude in Chrome is an extension you install in your Chrome browser. Think of it as a tool that lets you talk to Claude right inside the browser window you're already using, without opening a new tab or a separate app.

Starting August 12, 2026, conversations you have here no longer stay stuck in one place. A chat you start in Chrome can now be picked up again in the desktop app or the phone app. It's a bit like putting a bookmark in a book — open that same book on another device, and it opens right to the same page. This feature initially rolled out to Max and Team plan subscribers.

Seen alongside other updates Anthropic shipped around the same time — Cowork (which lets work continue even after you close your laptop) and automatic resume in Claude Code — this is part of a broader push to make Claude something you use across multiple devices, rather than something tied to a single screen.

1. Install the Claude in Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Inside Chrome, ask Claude to summarize the page you're currently viewing.
3. Open the desktop or mobile app signed in with the same account, and check whether the conversation you just had carries over.
