Voxtral TTS

Voxtral TTS is a speech synthesis technology built by the French AI company Mistral. Give it a script, and like a voice actor reading lines aloud, it converts written sentences into natural-sounding human speech and turns them into audio files.

Mistral is a Europe-based company founded in Paris in 2023 by three people who came from Google DeepMind and Meta AI. The company has consistently argued that businesses and governments should be able to control their own data and technology rather than depending solely on American companies' services, and voice technology is one part of that strategy. In fact, in Mistral's partnership with Saudi Arabia's HUMAIN, voice was named as one of the first areas to be tackled, alongside cybersecurity.

Text-to-speech technology itself is used in many places, such as services that read out captions as audio, announcement systems, and audiobooks. Voxtral TTS can be understood as Mistral's own product for handling this kind of work.
