Privacy Gate

A Privacy Gate acts like a gatekeeper that automatically checks whether a task contains personal or sensitive information. Normally, work is handled quickly and powerfully on an external server (a large, remote computer). But the moment this gatekeeper spots sensitive content, like someone's name or contact details, it shifts the processing to happen on your own device instead. It's similar to a bank teller who, upon seeing a customer's passport or bankbook, guides them to a private consultation room.

This approach exists because convenience and safety are hard to have at the same time. External servers are powerful but require sending your data to someone else's computer, while your own device is safe but less powerful. A Privacy Gate uses the external server by default and switches to your device only at risky moments, so you don't have to make that judgment call yourself every time.

A common misunderstanding here is that this feature doesn't delete or hide personal information outright, it's a switch that changes where processing happens while the task is underway. In other words, it's not a filter that erases information, but more like a traffic signal that decides where the computation takes place.
