Personal Superintelligence
Meta's vision of a future where everyone has their own personalized AI assistant that remembers their individual context.
In plain words
Personal Superintelligence is the idea that everyone will have their own smart AI assistant. Rather than one giant AI shared by an entire company or the whole world, it refers to an AI that works for just one person, like a personal aide.
Think of today's AI chatbots as being like a counselor you're meeting for the first time, where you have to explain your situation from scratch every time. Personal Superintelligence aims for the opposite: an AI that, like a personal assistant who has worked with you for years, remembers your habits, preferences, and goals over the long term and offers tailored advice accordingly.
The concept drew attention when Meta's Mark Zuckerberg laid it out in detail in a 6,500-word post on his channel in August 2025. It's worth noting, though, that this isn't a finished product on the market yet — it's closer to a vision the company is painting for the future.
How it shows up in the news
Articles describe it along the lines of "'Personal Superintelligence,' which Meta AI is building — a powerful AI assistant system personalized for each individual." A common misunderstanding is treating this as an already-launched product, when in fact it's a vision Zuckerberg laid out in an essay, and articles have also noted that the essay itself doesn't immediately change Meta's product roadmap or policies.
