Claude Campus Ambassadors

Claude Campus Ambassadors is a program where Anthropic recruits students from around the world to promote and use Claude at their own schools, paying them a cash stipend in return. It works a bit like clubs at a school festival getting funding to run events—except here, the club's theme is "using AI."

The program splits into three tracks. The undergraduate track is hands-on: ambassadors build an AI club on campus and run hackathons or showcases. The graduate track focuses on organizing discussion groups about AI's impact on education and society. The PhD/postdoc track is about gathering scientists who use AI in their research and organizing workshops for them. Whichever track you're selected for, you receive a $3,600 stipend.

The program reopens each academic year. Until now it only recruited undergraduates, but this round introduces graduate and PhD tracks for the first time. Since these are still in a pilot phase, selection is currently limited to a fixed pool of schools.

Articles phrase it as something like "Anthropic's Campus Ambassadors program adds graduate and PhD tracks." It's easy to mistake this for a job posting or a formal internship, but the program actually supports students—while they remain students—in running activities at their own schools; it has nothing to do with being hired by Anthropic.

1. Applications go through a single form. First decide which track you want (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD).
2. Fill in your school, major, and your experience with AI/Claude on the form and submit it.
3. If you were an ambassador last year, you can indicate that on the form.
4. Applications are reviewed in the order they're received, so submitting well before the deadline works in your favor.
5. For the PhD track, whether you're actually using Claude in your research is the key evaluation criterion, so it's worth describing that in detail.
