Agentic infrastructure refers to cloud infrastructure built so that AI agents, not just people, can run code, install programs, and deploy results on their own.

To put it in perspective: if traditional cloud infrastructure was a road built only for cars driven by people, agentic infrastructure is more like that same road redesigned with new signals and lanes so self-driving cars can travel on it too. It's built to automatically handle not just human developers clicking through screens, but also AI agents renting their own isolated workspaces and sharing the execution environments they need with other teams.

This kind of infrastructure is drawing attention because agents are taking on more and more of the work involved in writing, testing, and deploying code, and the old permission systems designed only for humans can't keep up. In the past, sharing an execution environment meant manually granting access team by team, but agentic infrastructure is continually being refined to reduce this kind of bottleneck.

Vercel introduced itself as "agentic infrastructure for every app and agent" while adding a public container registry feature. Here, agentic infrastructure isn't the name of a specific product—it refers broadly to infrastructure designed for both humans and agents to use together.
