Agentforce

An AI agent platform from Salesforce for building and running agents that handle sales and service tasks in place of humans.

In plain words

Agentforce is an AI agent platform built by Salesforce. Inside the Salesforce software companies already use to manage customers, it's the tool for creating and deploying 'working AI' that writes emails, organizes customer records, and figures out and carries out the next task, all in place of a person.

Think of it like an HR team inside the Salesforce office, hiring new digital employees and assigning them work. On top of this platform, a company picks and deploys agents suited to specific jobs like sales or customer service, and each agent uses its own judgment to get work done within the permissions it's been granted.

More recently, Salesforce has started attaching this 'force' brand to other companies' products too. One example is Claudeforce, a plugin that handles sales tasks inside Anthropic's chatbot Claude — an extension of the original Agentforce name.

How it shows up in the news

Articles describe it as "the first case of Salesforce attaching its brand suffix 'force' to another company's product name." Here, Agentforce is the origin of the 'force' brand, and Claudeforce is a separate plugin that extends that name for Claude. A common misunderstanding: Claudeforce doesn't replace Agentforce — it's a new product that connects Claude to pull in Salesforce's work capabilities.
